Plain‑English promise: Bear Notes is built for simplicity and peace of mind. There are no ads, no tracking beacons, and no creepy analytics. What you write is your own.
No guarantees: This app is provided “as is”. While I care deeply about reliability, I can’t guarantee availability, data retention, or fitness for any purpose. Please keep your own backups, especially for important information.
Privacy and access: Notes are not end‑to‑end encrypted by default. If you enable encryption in settings, your note content is encrypted on your device before it’s saved. Without encryption, your notes and attachments live in my project’s database and storage. I don’t view your content, but technically I could access it (for example, to comply with the law or investigate abuse). I won’t read your notes for any other reason.
No ads or tracking: There are no third‑party ads or cross‑site tracking scripts. Standard hosting/service logs may capture routine technical information (like basic error logs), but nothing is sold or shared for advertising.
Your responsibility: You’re responsible for how you use the app and what you store in it. If you need confidentiality, turn on encryption. If you need permanence, export regularly or enable backups.
This policy may evolve as the app does. If anything important changes, I’ll update it here.
